The Kapil Sharma Show is no longer among television's top 10, Nach Baliye 8 climbs up the charts

Is it the end of Kapil Sharma's reign on Indian television? Many may nod in affirmation after knowing the steep fall of The Kapil Sharma Show on the TRP charts. In the Urban TRP charts, the show has slipped down to the twelfth position and is no longer television audiences' favourite non-fiction show. Instead, the show which has got an entry in the top ten is celebrity couple dance show Nach Baliye 8, courtesy its first time ever line-up of contestants which is dominated by dancers unlike its previous seasons. The other non-fiction show which is posing threat to The Kapil Sharma Show is Zee TV's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs which airs at the same time as Kapil's show.

The huge blow to Kapil Sharma's comedy show came after his mid-air spat with Sunil Grover went viral and became a hot topic of discussion for the people of the television industry and the fans of the comedians alike. The issue got so blown up that Kapil failed to invite Bollywood biggies on his show. It also became clear that the infamous fight was definitely not a gimmick to attract viewers, as some reports suggested. Now with Kapil's show nearing its doom, the comedian is making some desperate efforts to save his boat from sinking. Kapil has invited his old colleagues like Raju Shrivastav and Upasana Singh to be part of the show permanently.

Amidst bad news pouring in from everywhere, Kapil Sharma may breathe a sigh of relief as his episode featuring Raveena Tandon has got higher viewership than his 'friend' Sunil Grover's stint during the grand finale of Indian Idol 9. According to BARC India's report for the first week of April, The Kapil Sharma Show garnered 4.6 million impressions while the Indian Idol grand finale episode got 4.2 million impressions.

On the other hand, Nach Baliye 8 has amazed the viewers with its perfect combo of dance and romance. Television actors shaking a leg with their baliye is a delightful sight on weekends. And the ear soothing voice of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs contestants does the remaining magic for the small screen audience. Now amidst so much happiness and positivity, how will Kapil's show, where the host is himself struggling to keep a smile on the face, manage to spread laughter across the television screens?

IPL 2017: Shraddha Kapoor’s head turning act at Eden Gardens got loudest cheers from dad Shakti Kapoor.

Shraddha sets IPL stage on fire
Shraddha Kapoor set the stage on fire with her stunning performance during the opening ceremony at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Shraddha sent the crowd into a frenzy after she shook a leg on her hit numbers. Singer Monali Thakur also crooned some of her most famous songs. Both the stars performed ahead of the first match of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the iconic stadium on Thursday evening during the ongoing tenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

During her 21-minute long performance, Shraddha left no stone unturned to entertain the crowd. The actress danced on her chartbuster songs - "Tum Hi Ho" (Aashiqui 2), "Teri Galliyan" (Ek Villain), "The Humma Song" (OK Jaanu) and "Cham Cham" (Baaghi). Shraddha's father Shakti Kapoor was cheering for her from the stands and looked delighted. Dressed in a pair of golden top and purple pants, Shraddha looked lovely. The actress danced with ease and seemed to enjoy herself. Monali also entertained the audience with her songs "Moh Moh ke Dhaage", "Tune Mari Entriyaan" and the title song of "Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya." Her songs drew loud cheers from the crowd.

Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor is all set for her next release Half Girlfriend co-starring Arjun Kapoor. The trailer has got mixed reviews from the viewers. The film is slated for a May 19 release this year. Talking about her film the actress told indianexpress.com, "I think the status of half girlfriend, half boyfriend is existent. I have seen a lot of my female friends say, ‘I like him but I don’t want to commit fully.'"

“Now, the youth wants to discover the other person before deciding that he or she is the right one. They want to spend time and they want to meet other people too to see what’s best for them. That is an evolution of the society all across the world. Due to digital technology, the dating concept has evolved a little bit in India. Today people go on dates, there is an availability to socialise beyond college and school situations. And even parents have also evolved," added Shraddha.

Game Of Thrones season seven gets new trailer and release date

Game Of Thrones season seven gets new trailer and release date
Winter is finally coming... this summer. Game Of Thrones fans have been given a release date and a fresh new trailer for season seven.

The eagerly awaited penultimate season, which promises a "Great War", won't hit UK screens until 17 July.

In an elaborate media stunt on Thursday, HBO bosses decided to give fans the news by melting a huge ice block to reveal the date on Facebook live.

As hot as the show is right now, it still took a few torches and around one hour for the date to appear - which led to thousands of fans mocking the stunt.

But the waiting was worth it because, at the end, HBO played a brand new trailer for the show's confirmed penultimate season.

Fans were kept guessing though, as the trailer did not give much away, lacked new visuals and instead played old lines from some of the characters.

Daenerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke, says: "I know what my father was, what he did. I know the mad king earned his name."

The trailer then moves on to King Robert vowing to kill every Targaryen, Joffrey ordering the execution of Ned Stark, Greyjoy welcoming Theon and Roose Bolton at the Red Wedding.

But the biggest revelation in the new trailer comes from Jon Snow's distant voice.

"There's only one war that matters," he is heard saying.

"The Great War. And it is here."

With only 14 episodes to go until the grand finale, fans can expect the next season to revolve around the White Walkers and a "brutal, bloody and wintry return to Westeros".

The sixth season culminated in Daenerys setting sail for the Seven Kingdoms, Snow dubbed King of the North, Cersei seizing the Iron Throne and the Night King amassing forces.

The show will be available from 2am on Sky Atlantic on 17 July and online streaming service Now TV.

Lego reports highest revenue in 85-year history

Lego has reported the highest revenues in its 85-year history even as profits returned to a more “sustainable” level after years of double-digit growth.

Sales in 2016 rose 6pc on the previous year to hit a new high of 37.9bn Danish kroner (£4.4bn), although in the previous year they had shot up 25pc. The brick toy company's profit rose 1.7pc to 12.2bn kroner last year.

Bali Padda, the first non-Dane to be in charge of the company, said he was satisfied with the toy maker's performance during 2016, despite slowing growth in the second half.

“We were encouraged by our performance in mature markets in Europe and continue to see strong potential in China, which represents an attractive growth opportunity,” he said.

However, sales in the US were flat despite a significant increase in spending on its marketing.

Lego introduced 355 new products during the year, and the Star Wars Millennium Falcon was its best-selling toy, ahead of the Amusement Park Roller Coaster and the Porsche 911 GTS RS.

Mr Padda said the company was increasingly focused on how to engage with children online, and will this year introduce a new online platform to encourage children to share what they have built out of the iconic bricks.

Previous chief executive Joergen Vig Knudstorp stepped down at the end of 2016 to take on a new branding role within Lego, aimed at expanding the toy overseas.

He is widely credited as having turned the business around, overseeing a period from his joining in 2004 in which Lego’s revenue increased five-fold and it returned to profit.

Under his leadership, the brand also made a successful foray into cinema with The Lego Movie, and has recently released another film, Lego Batman.

It also recently opened a huge flagship store in London's Leicester Square, the biggest in the world.

Atlus reveals its downloadable content schedule for ‘Persona 5’

While Japanese players have been enjoying Persona 5 since last September, the rest of the world has to wait until next month to get their hands on the hotly anticipated RPG sequel. Ahead of its impending release, its North American publisher Atlus has detailed the game’s DLC plans.

The majority of DLC for Persona 5 falls into two major groups: Packs that offer special costumes and background music from previous games in the Persona series, or the Shin Megami Tensei mythos, and character packs that allow fan-favorite Personas to be summoned in the new game.

The costume and music packs are based on the first four games in the mainline Persona series, as well as Persona 4: Dancing All Night, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Catherine, and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army.

The character summon packs offer access to Orpheus from Persona 3, Thanatos from Persona 3, Izanagi from Persona 4, and Kaguya from Persona 4 Golden.

The costume and music packs will be offered for $6.99 apiece, while the character summon packs will cost $2.99 each. The DLC will be made available on a weekly basis between April 11 and May 2 — there’s currently no confirmation as to whether or not more content will be offered after that on the Atlus website.

Alongside all this paid DLC, Atlus also plans to offer a free costume pack to everyone that buys the game. The Persona 5 swimsuit set allows players to dress their party for the beach, and will be made available on April 25.

The wait for Persona 5 ends on April 4, when the game is scheduled to release worldwide. Fans of the series have been looking forward to this one for some time — and based on our first impressions posted earlier this week, the finished product looks set to live up to their high expectations.
